Al 'Fingers' Newman traces the history and love affair for Clarks in Jamaica. From a village in Somerset to the dance halls and streets of Jamaica. No other shoe has such an important place in Jamaican culture, being the shoe of choice for the Rasta and rubeboy during the 1960s. It did not take long for Clarks to then be referenced in reggae and dancehall lyrics.
The book features current and historic photographs and interviews with the likes of Vybz Kartel, Popcaan, Jah Thomas and more.
Words by Al Fingers with photographs by Mark Read, Peter Simon, Beth Lesser and others.
