Dark Splendor is a comprehensive look at Lynch's most important work, showcasing all the different creative mediums that he worked in. These works also deal with the themes that are typical for Lynch such as cryptic written messages, the inclusion of organic materials and objects, and the artist’s liberating sense of humour are hallmarks of his paintings, executed in dark colours.
