FRUiTS was a magazine created in 1997 by Japanese fashion photographer Shoichi Aoki. It documented the street fashion of teenagers and young adults in Tokyo districts such as Harajuku. Subcultures such as punk and goth are prevalent in the photographs along with subcultures that are more specific to Japan such as lolita and ganguro.
This books showcases the most iconic looks as featured in previous editions of the magazine. The book was was important in developing Western interest in Japanese fashion.
