Morvan documented the gangs of Paris and the banlieues for over 40 years, following the Hell's Angels, skinheads, squatters and the street gangs of the deprived suburbs. He also photographed serial killer Guy Georges who in 1995 kidnapped and tortured Morvan for three months, threatening violence towards his family forcing him to escape Paris. The book had to be withdrawn shortly after publication due to Morvan being successfully sued by one of his subjects who claimed that his far-right views when the photograph was taken do not reflect his views today.
