The most beautiful book on the subject of hashish. The photographs by Suomi La Valle are taken in Lebanon and Nepal where cannabis was and is a livelihood for many people. It includes photographs of the cultivation of the plant, the production of turning the cannabis trichomes into concentrated blocks of hashish, the extraction and creation of hash oil and finally the smoking.
This is accompanied by a scholarly text by historian John Julius Norwich whom had lived in Lebanon for three years during the 1960s and first smoked hashish when he was with the British Embassy in Beirut.
It's a superb book whether you have experienced smoking hashish or not.
